Wroclaw-based opportunity with the possibility to work 100% remotely!

As a Big Data Platform Engineer, you will be assigned to our client – a renowned Investment Bank. You will get a chance to be part of reshaping the organization: develop new technologies in the Agile methodology, witness and put in place solutions for effective Risk Management in the Bank.

Your key responsibilities: 

• Cloudera administration – building, extending, and configuring four big data clusters (DEV, UAT, PROD, DR)
• Managing environment – onboarding new servers, DB, installing and configuring SW
• Enabling new products functionalities – day-to-day cooperation with data science product teams to enable new platform capabilities across the platform
• Working with project teams and production support to reduce manual efforts

The ideal candidate has:

• Experience with one or more major Hadoop distributions and various ecosystem components (e.g. HDFS, Sqoop, Impala, Spark, Flume, Kafka, Nifi, etc.)
• Experience in building/setting up big data clusters with the ability to translate technical designs into working solutions
• Programming/scripting skills (e.g. Python, Java, C/C, Scala, Bash, Korn Shell) and understanding of DevOps tools (e.g. Docker, Puppet, Jenkins, GitLab)
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with Architect and Big Data Project teams to work out platform features

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with people face to face and over the phone
• Experience in working on international projects
• Experience in working within a matrix-managed environment
