Java Backend Developer in Equities Falcon Risk

As a  Senior Java Backend Developer in Equities Falcon Risk, you will be working for our client, a global leader in investment banking. You’ll join a team dedicated to developing and supporting the Falcon platform, facilitating electronic trading, risk management, and pricing in Equities and Equity Derivatives.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing new features and functionalities for the Falcon platform
• Collaborating with traders to gather requirements for new features
• Implementing automated regression testing for software updates
• Deploying multiple software packages to production regularly
• Ensuring the production availability and reliability of the service
• Conducting peer reviews of team members’ code changes
• Contributing ideas and improvements to enhance development processes

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 10+ years of Expertise in Java development
• Familiarity with cloud technologies like GCP and Terraform
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and continuous integration/delivery
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Proficiency in Scala development
• Interest or experience in Equity or Equity Derivatives trading
• Knowledge of trading or risk analysis systems
• Experience with REST, messaging technologies, and JVM performance tuning
• Familiarity with MongoDB, STIG stack, Apache Kafka, and Kafka Streams
• A passion for software development outside of work, such as open-source contributions or participation in tech communities
