As an Observability Engineer, you will work for our Client – one of the most prestigious investment banks in the world. You will join the global Digital Business Automation (DigiBA) team. You will be responsible for defining, and implementing the strategy for a number of critical products across the organisation, as well as ensuring their availability, recoverability and security.

Your key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with operations & engineering teams, application developers, management, and infrastructure teams
  • Managing  Splunk/AppDynamics/ThousandEyes to support custom metric delivery dashboards
  • Growing the capabilities of the Splunk/ThousandEyes platform
  • Build a practice of performance and tracing using Spunk, AppDynamics and ThousandEyes
  • Adopting Splunk/ThousandEyes/AppDynamics for usage on-premises with familiarity of Cloud IaaS and PaaS models
  • Architecting a highly available and scalable Controller infrastructure with appropriate monitoring and alerting mechanisms
  • Providing input on improving the global operating model for monitoring and observability services

You are an ideal candidate if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience with monitoring and observability tools and methodology of products such as; Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes, Elasticsearch, Grafana, Prometheus
  • 2+ years of Application Development Experience (Java)
  • Experience with APM (ideally AppDynamics) in deployment for mission critical applications
  • Experience with a range of architecture tech stacks including Java app servers, Web Servers, Golang, Kubernetes, OpenShift, PCF, AWS, Google Cloud
  • Knowledge and appreciation of various aspects of distributed service design, including messaging protocols, caching strategies and autonomous software design practices
  • Knowledge of AppDynamics, internals, product REST API and ability to develop AppDynamics Monitoring Extensions
  • Understanding of performance metrics, KPIs, statistical calculations, machine learning, and correlation
  • Etensive experience with metrics and logging libraries and aggregators, data analysis and visualization tools
  • Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Familiarity with modern machine learning methods for regression and classification
  • Experience of using Service Now, Confluence, Jira
  • Knowledge of Event Management tools and of Operations Automation like AIOPs
  • Understanding of Cloud Concepts (AWS, GCP) and AI/ML
