Senior Java Developer – Real Time Trading

Warsaw-based opportunity with the possibility to work 2-3 days weekly remote

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be working for our Client – one of the most prestigious investment banks in the world. You will be heavily involved in the emergence of new business initiatives and interaction with a wide range of stakeholders while working with data on a real-time processing trading platform. From the successful candidate, we expect to be responsible, with an eye for detail and an interest in both the business and technical aspects of our systems.

Your main responsibilities: solving challenging data problems

• Implementing a corrective reporting system to update, validate and submit trade to external regulators
• Ensuring data correctness while processing millions of rows of data
• Finding the most effective ways to aggregate and present the data to end-users
• Using Java/Spring/Spark/Scala technology stack to develop effective data correction services
• Working with 3rd party providers to integrate and extend industry tools
• Building relationships with end-users to understand the business and suggest improvements to existing tools and processes
• Providing oversight and guidance to the junior members of the team both on a project level and career level
• Gaining a comprehensive understanding of financial instruments across multiple asset classes ranging from high volume FX trades to complex Commodities, Credit, Equities, and Interest Rate derivatives

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Java-based technologies and toolkits
• Solid knowledge of Java 8/11, design patterns, and algorithmic foundations
• Familiarity with relational databases
• Good understanding of algorithms
• Ability to solve the problems
• Communication skills
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of React, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spring Batch, and distributed caching such as Hazelcast
