Senior Network Security Expert – Cybersecurity and Financial Services

As a Senior Network Security SME, you will be working for our client in the financial services industry, supporting cybersecurity and network infrastructure resilience. You will contribute to strengthening the organization’s defenses by leading strategic initiatives, reviewing security documentation, and providing expert guidance to technical teams—playing a vital role in protecting assets and ensuring compliance in a dynamic environment. Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the development and execution of strategic security initiatives to reinforce network defenses.
• Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
• Conduct in-depth reviews of security design documentation, firewall rules, and identify potential gaps in security controls.
• Offer advanced technical support on complex network solutions, cryptography, and data security projects.
• Lead risk assessment activities and collaborate with the first line of defense to maintain visibility of security risk profiles.
• Ensure compliance with global cybersecurity standards and promote best practices organization-wide.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the cybersecurity domain.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of network security policies and incident response protocols.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity or network security, with a focus on enterprise environments.
• Deep knowledge of network security concepts such as segmentation, zero trust, encryption, and access controls.
• Proficiency with network security technologies including firewalls (CheckPoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto), IDS/IPS, SIEM tools (Splunk, ELK), and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM are highly desirable.
• Strong English language skills (fluent) and good command of Polish.
• Eligibility to work in the European Union; only candidates with an existing legal right to work in Europe will be considered.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Proven experience in security architecture design and implementing security policies.
• Additional certifications in vendor-specific network security solutions or ethical hacking (CEH).
