As an Azure Network Engineer, you will work within the global Azure Cloud Services team and will be responsible for building highly resilient, scalable, reusable, and performant Azure infrastructure in an automated and efficient manner with an increased focus on networking for one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, serving +40 million customers globally.

Your main responsibilities:

• Building and managing the Azure foundation platform to enable application deployments
• Engineering solutions on the Azure foundation platform using Infrastructure-as-Code methods (e.g. Terraform)
• Executing the functional pattern lifecycle process (design, document, develop and maintain code library)
• Integrating, configuring, deploying, and managing centrally provided common cloud services (e.g. IAM, networking, monitoring, Operating systems, Containers.)
• Managing Azure connectivity and networking e.g. Express Route, DNS, IP allocation and traffic routing, NSG’s and Azure Firewall
• Consuming centrally agreed base Hardened OS images (Linux and Windows)
• Ensuring compliance with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
• Building and supporting continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and constant testing activities

You’re ideal for the role if you have:

• Experience in
  • Building a range of Services in Azure
  • Docker/ Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure build and configurations of a variety of services including Compute, Storage, SDN Managing their own time, and prioritizing workloads
• Understanding of:
  • DevOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and techniques
  • Security and Compliance, e.g. IAM and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools
  • The mechanism necessary to successfully implement change
• Azure Cloud networking skills including Azure DNS Zones, Private DNS resolver, Azure Firewall, Private endpoints, Service endpoints, User defined routing (UDR), Network Security Groups (NSG), Hub-Spoke networking topology, Azure Front door, Azure Application Gateway, and WAF
• Excellent skills in at least one of the following: ARM, Powershell, and Terraform
• Technical knowledge and breadth of Azure technology services (Identity, Networking, Compute, Storage, Web, Mobile, Containers, Databases, Analytics, AI & Machine learning)
• Ability to build strong relationships with Application teams, cross-functional IT, and global/local IT teams
• Ability to quickly acquire new skills

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Industry-recognised cloud certifications. Az-104 or Az-400
• Programming experience in the following languages: PowerShell, Terraform, Go, Bash, Windows command prompt, and object-orientated programming languages
• Demonstrable experience in Linux administration and scripting preferably Red Hat
• Experience operating in a highly regulated industry, e.g. Financial Services
