As a MSSQL DBA, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution. You will play a key role in ensuring the performance, security, and optimization of critical SQL Server databases. Your responsibilities will include supporting database migrations, improving database performance, and collaborating with development teams to optimize database applications. This position is integral in maintaining robust database operations in a highly secure and regulated environment, with a focus on performance tuning, security, and disaster recovery planning.

Your main responsibilities: Optimizing database performance and query execution

• Supporting developers in integrating databases with applications
• Writing and maintaining stored procedures, views, and tables
• Ensuring smooth database migrations from one server to another
• Managing backup, recovery, and user/role management activities
• Automating DBA tasks through scripting and process improvement
• Analyzing and optimizing execution plans
• Implementing and managing database security and object permissions
• Collaborating with technical teams to deliver projects
• Ensuring high availability and disaster recovery for databases

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 8 years of experience as a DBA
• Strong experience with MS SQL Server and T-SQL
• Expertise in performance tuning and query optimization
• In-depth knowledge of DBA activities such as backup, recovery, and user management
• Strong experience in database migrations and execution plan analysis
• Proficiency in writing scripts to automate DBA tasks
• Familiarity with Extended Events for database monitoring
• Strong command of SQL Server security and object permissions
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Good understanding of firewalls and network load balancers
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, WDS, Failover Cluster, and Hyper-V
• Experience with server virtualization and storage configuration (NAS, SAN)
• Familiarity with RAID configuration and storage systems
• Experience in disaster recovery planning and execution drills
• Experience in automating and streamlining processes to identify and mitigate risks
