You will contribute to the development of HSBC\u2019s groundbreaking Cash FX primary trading system, shaping the future of foreign exchange trading through innovative, efficient, and stable software solutions. Join a talented international team and help build the backbone of a dynamic financial ecosystem\u2014driving digital transformation and industry-leading performance.<\/p> <p><strong>Your main responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Create usable, efficient, and elegant Java code to support core trading functionalities.<\/li> <li>Build a micro-service based architecture for scalable, resilient systems.<\/li> <li>Monitor production environments to ensure stability and high availability.<\/li> <li>Support foreign exchange business requirements with robust technical solutions.<\/li> <li>Automate testing and deployment for small, frequent releases to accelerate delivery.<\/li> <li>Communicate effectively with product owners and business stakeholders to clarify features and requirements.<\/li> <li>Take ownership of the production availability and performance of your services.<\/li> <\/ul> <p><strong>You&#8217;re ideal for this role if you have:<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, preferably within finance or trading systems.<\/li> <li>Strong proficiency in Java 17+ (Concurrency, data structures, lock-free, wait-free code, low latency, lambdas).<\/li> <li>Experience with TDD, continuous integration, jUnit, continuous deployment, and testing.<\/li> <li>Familiarity with REST and messaging technologies.<\/li> <li>Understanding of DevOps practices and toolsets.<\/li> <li>Ability to use AI Coding Assistants to optimize development.<\/li> <li>Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.<\/li> <li>Problem-solving attitude with flexibility and adaptability to changing environments.<\/li> <\/ul> <p><strong>It is a strong plus if you have:<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of FX trading or financial markets.<\/li> <li>Passion for software development outside of work, such as open source contributions or involvement in working groups.<\/li> <\/ul> <p><strong>Language Required for the role:<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Good command of English (Communicative proficiency).<\/li> <\/ul> <p><strong>Eligibility for the role:<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in the European Union will be considered for this role.<\/li> <\/ul> <p><strong>#MAKEYourCareerBETTER<\/strong><\/p> <p>Interested?
