As a Linux/UNIX Administrator you will be working for our client, one of the leaders in the online banking sector, supporting critical infrastructure behind financial applications. You will be part of a distributed team responsible for maintaining, developing, and optimizing systems running in Linux/UNIX environments. The role involves close collaboration with both business and technical stakeholders, ensuring application performance, availability, and security. The client emphasizes automation, monitoring, and proactive troubleshooting, making this an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about robust, scalable, and secure systems in the financial domain.
Your main responsibilities: Administer applications running in Linux/UNIX environments
- Manage and maintain Linux/UNIX system environments
- Collaborate with business clients to support and develop applications
- Cooperate with software vendors on issue resolution and development
- Develop and maintain system monitoring and administrative documentation
- Automate processes and infrastructure management tasks
- Inventory and update systems, software, infrastructure, and processes
- Troubleshoot issues across application, business, and system layers
- Implement and manage automation tools like Ansible
- Support containerization and modern infrastructure initiatives
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Practical knowledge of Linux operating systems (any distribution)
- Understanding of networking concepts and the TCP/IP protocol
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience with troubleshooting in complex environments
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Teamwork skills and experience working in distributed teams
- Ability to create and maintain system documentation
- Communication skills for working with business and technical stakeholders
- Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive system management
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of the capital markets
- Experience working with applications in the financial market
- Familiarity with applications used in brokerage offices
