As a Data Analyst, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution. In this dynamic environment, you will contribute to a project focused on data management, ensuring high-quality data solutions are developed to meet business needs. Your role will involve working with data models, collaborating closely with business users, and leveraging data management principles to help define and enhance data strategy. This is a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions will directly support the evolution of their data architecture.
Your main responsibilities: Analyzing business requirements and translating them into data models, solution designs, and functional requirements
- Promoting data modelling principles, best practices, and standards across the organization
- Collaborating with business users and subject matter experts to understand and document data needs
- Supporting the development teams by communicating functional solutions and ongoing data model requirements
- Ensuring the creation of scalable, reusable data assets in alignment with group standards
- Contributing to the definition and documentation of Project/System Data Architecture solutions
- Designing and delivering enterprise-level logical models with a focus on abstraction techniques
- Managing and resolving complex data issues through analytical problem-solving
- Ensuring data models support the identification of trusted sources and data ownership
- Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure data strategies meet business objective
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience in logical data modelling and adhering to governance standards
- Strong conceptual and logical thinking abilities, with a focus on abstraction techniques
- Experience designing enterprise logical models in large-scale environments
- Familiarity with industry data modelling standards such as BIAN, FSDM, and BDW
- Analytical excellence with the ability to challenge designs and decisions
- Proven ability to balance analytical rigor with fast delivery
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including virtual collaboration tools
- Strong problem-solving and issue resolution skills
- Leadership experience with the ability to present solutions to both technical and business audiences
- Strong planning and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Commercial acumen and an understanding of applying it to business and IT data requirements
- A track record of driving continuous improvement and change implementation
- Experience in a global, multi-regional team environment
- Understanding of the financial services industry and its data requirements
