Data Platform Architect

Lead the Architecture of a Next-Gen Data Platform!

As a Data Platform Architect, you will be working for our client – a leading organization modernizing its data ecosystem. You will play a crucial role in the design and development of a cutting-edge cloud-based Data Platform, which includes both a Lakehouse-style Data Warehouse with BI reporting capabilities and an MLOps Platform supporting scalable analytical solutions. Your main mission will be to ensure proper architectural integration of the Data Platform into the broader IT ecosystem, working closely with Enterprise Architecture and cross-functional teams.

Your main responsibilities: Analyze existing source and target systems to assess integration requirements with the Data Platform

• Design and document the integration architecture (HLD/LLD) for: Data ingestion mechanisms (batch, streaming, API), Data delivery to target systems (API, read-model layer, exports)
• Collaborate with owners of source and target systems to define interfaces, data exchange frequency, SLAs, and security requirements
• Advise on the selection and configuration of Data Platform components and services
• Recommend integration tools and design patterns with focus on ELT and event-driven architecture
• Define standards for versioning, CI/CD, and data workflows
• Ensure compliance with data security, regulatory, and organizational standards
• Contribute to Data Governance policies and supervise their application
• Provide guidance on integrating ML solutions into business systems, including BPMN workflows
• Help design platform structure supporting collaborative work of BI and Data Science teams
• Work closely with Chapter Leads for Data and Analytical Platform
• Engage in other activities related to standardizing Data Platform implementation practices

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Several years of hands-on experience in implementing cloud-based Data Platforms (especially in on-prem to cloud migration scenarios)
• Strong background in Data Modeling, particularly in Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience designing integration architectures and documenting HLD/LLD
• Solid understanding of ELT pipelines, event-driven architecture, APIs, and data sharing models
• Familiarity with security, compliance, and Data Governance standards
• Previous collaboration with Data Science teams, including MLOps practices (automated pipelines, versioning, testing, CI/CD)
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with business and technical stakeholders

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with Azure-based Data Platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks)
• Exposure to BPMN systems
• Knowledge of tools like Azure Purview, metadata management systems, and lineage tracking tools
• Background in analytical platform architecture for BI/ML collaboration
• Familiarity with data contracts, master data design, and data quality frameworks
