Senior Java Software Engineer – Credit Derivatives Trading Systems

As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in foreign exchange markets. The Commodities IT team develops cutting-edge Front Office applications to support commodities trading, leveraging agile methodologies and advanced market technology. This senior role is part of the Credit VS – Qilin team, focusing on creating and enhancing trading systems for Credit and IR derivatives, enabling real-time risk management and operational excellence.

Your main responsibilities:

• Build high-end solutions using market-leading technology stacks across trading workflows
• Act as Application Specialist for front-to-back systems related to Credit derivatives and IR derivatives trading
• Propose and implement sustainable tooling infrastructure, including DevOps, release management, resiliency, and monitoring
• Contribute to the evolution of existing tech stacks and improvement of processes
• Engage in design review forums, representing application architecture and innovations
• Collaborate with IT management and engineering teams to enable effective trading workflows and risk controls

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in Java back-end development, with expertise in RESTful APIs and microservices
• Proven experience in high-availability service architecture
• Strong skills in SQL and practical knowledge of databases like PostgreSQL or Sybase
• Hands-on experience with AI tooling and models in day-to-day tasks
• Experience leading the delivery of Java-based services or modules
• Excellent communication skills in English, including meetings and presentations
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
• A fast learner with curiosity and a passion for new technologies
• Ability to perform calmly under pressure
• A team-oriented mindset

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Production support experience
• Knowledge of Agile development, CI/CD processes
• Domain expertise in banking or financial markets
