Senior Valuation Analyst – Financial Instruments and Controls

As a Senior Valuation Analyst – Financial Instruments and Controls, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the financial services industry. In this role, you will be a vital part of the Product Control Krakow team, ensuring accurate valuation and control of financial instruments within the Global Markets Business. Your expertise will support the MSS Centralisation project, driving best practices in IFRS compliance, controls, and valuation methodologies, thereby instrumental in maintaining financial integrity and transparency.
Your main responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation of IPV (Independent Price Verification), FVA (Fair Value Adjustment), PVA (Prudent Valuation), and FVL (Fair Value Levelling).
- Improve controls and implement advanced valuation methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Analyze valuation model restrictions and provide informed recommendations.
- Coordinate the preparation of Management Information for various committees to ensure informed decision-making.
- Deliver a comprehensive view of the P&L and Balance Sheet through collaboration with Business Financial Control and Core Product Control.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Product Control, Quantitative Analytics, Front Office, Market Risk Management, IT, and Operations.
- Lead reengineering and streamlining of processes to optimize performance and service quality.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 5 years of experience in financial valuation, controls, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments and valuation techniques.
- Knowledge of market risk factors.
- Advanced Excel skills (mandatory).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English, with excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with enthusiasm and drive.
It is a strong plus if you have: [optional]
- Experience with Fair Value Framework.
- Knowledge of VBA (preferred), Access, and SQL.
- CFA or FRM qualification (or currently pursuing).
