As a Senior Full Stack Tech Lead – Java/Spring & React, you will be working for our client, a leading player in the banking and financial services industry. You will contribute to the development of resilient enterprise applications within Group Functions Technology, focusing on Risk & Compliance, Model Risk Management, and Operational Risk Management. Your main responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a technical team, providing expert guidance and ensuring successful delivery of complex projects.
• Design, build, and support backend microservices and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, Data, REST, and Security best practices.
• Create comprehensive solution architecture diagrams and documentation (e.g., UML).
• Deliver end-to-end features including React + TypeScript UI components when needed.
• Implement microservice architectures with clear API contracts and event-driven integration patterns.
• Develop workflow-driven capabilities using BPMN, integrating workflow components into services.
• Engineer for production readiness, incorporating logging, error handling, resilience, and observability.
• Build and maintain batch processing workloads where applicable.
• Drive software quality through automated testing, code scanning, and remediation activities.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy via Kubernetes, supporting cloud environments.
• Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams using JIRA, Confluence, and Wiki, ensuring continuous delivery.
• Provide day-to-day technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 8 years of enterprise application development experience, with strong backend engineering expertise.
• Proven leadership experience of 2+ years managing delivery, mentoring, and technical ownership.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and micro-database architecture.
• Strong knowledge of event-driven systems design.
• Expertise in Java and Spring Framework (Boot, Data, REST, Security).
• Front-end experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
• Experience drafting API specifications using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Strong automated testing skills (JUnit, mocking frameworks, H2, HttpUnit or similar).
• Experience supporting batch processing programs.
• Expertise in logging, error handling, and production system resilience.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud services development.
• Familiarity with code scanning tools and security/quality standards.
• Comfortable working within Agile/Scrum environments using JIRA and Confluence.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Knowledge of Risk & Compliance domains, especially Model Risk Management.
• Experience with Spring Integration and/or Spring Batch.
• WebSockets, SSE, or binary protocol expertise.
• Workflow engines/libraries: BPMN, Flowable, Activiti, Drools.
• Micro-frontends development experience.

Language Required for the role:

• Communicative English (good command required).
