As a Senior Software Engineer – Platform Control Automation, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial services organization committed to redefining banking technology. Your main responsibilities:

• Lead a team of software engineers to design, develop, and deliver innovative control automation solutions.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across Germany, France, and worldwide teams to align development strategies.
• Develop and maintain APIs, databases, and backend services to support platform controls.
• Deploy automation solutions within complex HSBC technology environments, ensuring robustness and security.
• Contribute actively to fostering a strong engineering culture through best practices and innovation.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
• Maintain documentation and assist in troubleshooting to optimize system performance.
• Stay updated on latest industry trends in control systems, cloud infrastructure, and software engineering.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with senior leadership capability.
• Strong knowledge of Internal Developer Platforms and Hosting Platforms (cloud and internal).
• Proficiency in programming languages Python/Java/Javascript
• Experience with API development, database design, and backend systems.
• Basic understanding of Linux and web technologies.
• Familiarity with how controls influence software products.
• Fluent English skills, with excellent communication for a global environment.
• Flexibility to work across time zones.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Previous experience deploying within HSBC or similar financial institutions.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and hosting infrastructure.
