Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).

As a Category Sourcing Lead you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution currently advancing its procurement capabilities within the Market Data and Brokerage space. The project involves managing strategic vendor relationships and driving sourcing initiatives to optimize procurement outcomes in a highly regulated and data-intensive environment. You are contributing to the planning and execution of sourcing strategies that balance cost, compliance, and innovation while aligning with the client’s broader business goals in the financial technology landscape.

Your main responsibilities: Leading end-to-end sourcing projects across Market Data and Brokerage categories

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define sourcing strategies and procurement goals
  • Managing commercial and contractual negotiations from requirements through execution
  • Supporting category planning to meet or exceed cost savings targets
  • Monitoring supplier performance and market trends for opportunity identification
  • Maintaining a global network of procurement stakeholders
  • Driving compliance with internal procurement policies and buying channels
  • Reviewing and refining category specifications to identify efficiencies
  • Building subject matter expertise to influence strategic sourcing decisions
  • Maintaining a pipeline of procurement projects aligned with business needs

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience in IT sourcing or Market Data procurement
  • Strong track record in leading complex contractual and commercial negotiations
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of procurement lifecycle and category management principles
  • Familiarity with regulatory considerations in financial services sourcing
  • Proficiency in supplier performance and market trend analysis
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across global teams
  • Analytical mindset with ability to deliver strategic insights
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizational environments
  • Fluency in English and the ability to work in an international setting

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Background in the financial services industry
  • Understanding of the vendor landscape within Market Data and Brokerage
  • Exposure to hybrid or agile procurement practices
  • Knowledge of procurement systems (e.g., Ariba, Coupa)
  • Previous experience with demand and lifecycle value management
