As a Data Architect, you will be working for our client, a major financial institution focused on enhancing its Governance Risk and Control systems. You will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing scalable data architectures to support Model Risk Management (MRM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven decision-making, integration of data sources, and alignment with business objectives, while maintaining high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and security.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Designing scalable, secure data architectures to meet business and risk management needs
  • Developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Collaborating with business analysts to gather and define data requirements
  • Ensuring data models support real-time, near-real-time, and batch data processing
  • Integrating data from various platforms into refineries for analysis and reporting
  • Maintaining high standards of data integrity, accuracy, and consistency
  • Providing training and guidance on data models and architecture to other teams
  • Documenting data architectures with clear Solution Design Documents and data dictionaries
  • Implementing best practices for data modeling, including naming conventions and version control
  • Reviewing and ensuring approval of data architectures in relevant forums

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience in data architecture and modeling
  • Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Visual Paradigm
  • Strong knowledge of relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database systems
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration tools
  • Experience with cloud-based (GCP, AWS, Azure), on-premises, and hybrid architectures
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and documentation abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience working with enterprise-level software development
  • Understanding of real-time and batch data processing environments

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience in digital architectural transformation and managing technical debt
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and solutions
  • Experience in financial services, especially in risk management
  • Consultancy experience in enterprise-scale environments
