As a DevOps you will be working for our client, a global banking and financial services organization. This role is within the newly formed Finance Treasury IT function, tasked with enhancing delivery capabilities in Guangzhou. Initially focusing on Financial Resource Management (FRM) and Interest Rate Risk (IRR) products, you’ll play a pivotal role in establishing a high-performance team aligned with the company’s IT strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to greenfield project development using the latest technology stack on Google Cloud.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide technical consultation and guidance to development team members, leading high-complexity projects and feasibility studies
• Offer technical analysis and solutions for business issues, researching and implementing alternatives while staying abreast of technology strategies
• Gather user requirements, document detailed specifications, and ensure alignment between business needs and development activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
• Clarify user requirements, conduct system testing, and prepare test plans and cases in collaboration with the development team
• Assist business users with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution and follow-up on defects with the application development team
• Design, code, and debug modernized applications while translating business requirements into technical specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and secure cloud-based solutions using open-source technologies or cloud-native services

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in Cloud-native technologies, with expertise in GCP, AWS, or similar platforms
• Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as Java or Python
• Proven automation capabilities in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps, including automated deployment and release management using Git, Terraform, Jenkins, Shell, Github, Groovy, Ansible etc.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD process
• Knowledge and experience with GitOps, Argo CD, or equivalent technologies
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, SQL/NoSQL databases, Redis, Elasticsearch, and related technologies
• Experience on building monitoring and/or observabilities by using AppDynamic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
• Familiarity with microservices, containerized technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and data mesh development patterns

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Deep understanding of databases like MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Cassandra HBase, etc.
• Any relevant certifications or contributions to the engineering community
• GCP certifications
• Experience with big data technologies like Spark or Flink
• Certifications in architecture or programming
• Knowledge/certification in K8s, Kafka, Kong Gateway, or equivalent technologies
