Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office)
As a DevSecOps Tech Consultant, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution undertaking a strategic transformation of its cybersecurity capabilities. This role supports engineering excellence within cybersecurity by driving automation, operational maturity, and security-first practices across infrastructure and development workflows. You’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams to improve observability, enforce security best practices, and guide teams through Agile delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient systems. This is an opportunity to lead technical change and influence best practices across a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
Your main responsibilities: Promoting security and engineering excellence across teams through technical leadership
- Driving improvements in observability, monitoring, and logging platforms
- Advising of secure infrastructure practices, including patching and vulnerability remediation
- Implementing secrets and configuration management best practices
- Preparing and delivering guidance for development teams on secure coding practices
- Supporting integration of security tools and technologies across the environment
- Defining Agile processes and ensuring planning accuracy in sprints and epics
- Leading technical assessments for proof-of-concepts and innovation pilots
- Collaborating with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure platform fitness
- Creating and maintaining documentation for platforms and processes
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or DevSecOps role within Agile environments
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Ali Cloud) and container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Deep understanding of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible
- Proven expertise in managing observability stacks (e.g., Splunk, Application Dynamics)
- Experience administering Linux and Windows environments with modern CI/CD pipelines
- A history of driving cultural and technical change across large teams
- Strong familiarity with secrets management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- Experience in securing enterprise-scale, regulated environments
- Proven ability to define and implement high-quality operational processes
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Familiarity with ITIL and tools such as ServiceNow
- Experience in network security design including firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation
- Experience working in finance or similarly regulated sectors
- Mentoring experience and ability to foster team growth
