Exploring Bieszczady: A Memorable Adventure of Our Ski & Hiking Club

Recently, our Ski & Hiking Club embarked on an unforgettable 4-day journey to the majestic Bieszczady Mountains. The trip was not just an exploration of one of Poland’s most beautiful regions, but also an opportunity for them to bond over shared adventures and enjoy the region’s vibrant culture and cuisine.

The highlight of the expedition was conquering Tarnica, the highest peak in the Bieszczady range, standing proudly at 1346 meters. The ascent rewarded the team with breathtaking panoramic views and the invigorating feeling of standing above the clouds. They then continued to Połonina Caryńska, where the trails led them through serene meadows adorned with autumn colors. A stop at the iconic Chatka Puchatka added a nostalgic touch, as they took in the cozy atmosphere of this historic mountain shelter.

As Anastazja, one of our avid hikers and the Head of ITDS’ Ski & Hiking Club described it, “Our hike was a magical experience, as we walked among the clouds and admired the stunning autumn colors in the Bieszczady forests. We also indulged in delicious local cuisine and discovered the best pancakes in the entire Bieszczady region!”

Indeed, after hours spent traversing the picturesque trails, the team indulged in the hearty and welcoming flavors of local cuisine. They savored traditional dishes, however, it was a quaint little café in Solina that truly stole their hearts. Renowned for serving the best pancakes in the area, this gem offered an array of flavors that left everyone craving more!

Apart from the culinary delights, the camaraderie of the team was strengthened as we navigated the challenging terrains together. Each kilometer they trekked was not just a step towards a new destination but a shared experience that enriched the spirits of the club members.

This adventure reminded us of the beauty that lies in nature and the joy of experiencing it with great company. The team returned home tired but rejuvenated, filled with new memories and a deepened appreciation for the Bieszczady Mountains.
