Full Stack Developer

As a Full Stack Developer, you will be working for our client, a major financial institution dedicated to delivering advanced technology solutions within Global Markets Technology. You will be part of a dynamic team responsible for building and supporting applications throughout the entire development lifecycle. This involves everything from initial analysis and design to testing and providing ongoing production support, ensuring high-quality and efficient software solutions. The role emphasizes collaboration, iterative development, and maintaining a balance between new features and technical debt management.

Your main responsibilities: Working within a small team of 4 – 6 members with a dedicated product owner to deliver robust software solutions

• Taking business requirements, dividing them into smaller tasks, and delivering them iteratively to production
• Supporting applications in production as part of a “you build it, you support it” culture
• Identifying areas of technical debt and prioritizing them alongside new features
• Designing solutions that adhere to technology guidelines and constraints
• Pairing with other developers to enhance code quality and knowledge sharing

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and GIT
• Willingness to learn multiple programming languages
• Demonstrable experience with at least one programming language (preferably Java or JavaScript)
• Working knowledge of Unix systems
• Understanding of databases from a consumer perspective
• Familiarity with HTTP APIs, including RESTful APIs
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent English
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
• Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in a dynamic environment
• Commitment to delivering high-quality code and supporting it in production

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with JavaScript/React
• Familiarity with financial systems or applications
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• Exposure to geographically dispersed teams
• Interest in enhancing technical knowledge continuously
