As a DataBase Developer, you will be working for our client on developing automation solutions for delivering, managing, and operating SQL Server. You’ll implement and operate within a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline, building automated test scripts and API-based interfaces between systems.

Your main responsibilities:

• Developing automation solutions for SQL Server management and operation
• Implementing and maintaining a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipeline
• Creating automated test scripts and API interfaces
• Supporting automation within the HSBC Internal Cloud and APIs
• Designing and implementing secure SQL automation solutions
• Interpreting requirements and delivering well-documented solutions
• Understanding SQL Server services and client interactions

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong hands-on experience in MS SQL Server DBA skills (SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016 & 2019)
• Proficiency in SQL Server architecture, security, and automation
• Skills in PowerShell scripting and T-SQL
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments, including registry and security
• Experience with tools like JIRA, GITHUB, Jenkins, Ansible, Confluence, and Nexus
• Knowledge of additional Windows estate tools (e.g., SCCM, SCOM)
• Bonus points for experience in Go Lang, API development, Puppet, Groovy, and Kong
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver robust, secure solutions
• Innovation, self-sufficiency, and collaboration within a supportive team
• Leadership in regulatory and compliance matters, including risk management
