As a Senior Credit Risk and Lending IT Business Analyst, you will be working for our client, a leading entity in the financial services industry. You will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs and technology, driving the development and implementation of innovative solutions across the entire credit lifecycle. Your expertise will influence risk management, operational efficiency, and the colleague experience through data, automation, and AI-enabled advancements.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Lead structured discovery sessions with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, product owners, data specialists, and engineering teams to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Translate complex credit and lending problems into clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process models.
  • Define and document current-state and target-state processes across origination, analysis, decisioning, monitoring, and reporting phases.
  • Identify opportunities for technology, data, automation, and AI solutions that enhance risk management and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data specialists, and product owners to create practical, well-detailed requirements for technology and data-enabled solutions.
  • Contribute to solution evaluation, readiness, rollout, and continuous improvement, including AI capabilities.
  • Analyze data flows, business rules, controls, and dependencies, validating proposed solutions with technical teams.
  • Act as a senior point of contact between business and technology teams, resolving ambiguities, and supporting informed decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Challenge requirements constructively, assess options and trade-offs, ensuring solutions address core business problems.
  • Support Agile practices via backlog management, refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Facilitate solution validation, user acceptance testing, implementation, and adoption processes.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to internal control standards, data governance, security, and regulatory obligations.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • At least 7 years of experience as an IT Business Analyst in financial services, with strong knowledge of credit risk and lending processes.
  • Practical understanding of the entire credit lifecycle, including origination, analysis, decisioning, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Proven experience delivering technology, data, automation, or AI-enabled solutions from problem framing to implementation.
  • Experience collaborating with software engineering and data teams on complex data flows, system integrations, or analytics solutions.
  • Excellent requirements engineering skills: stakeholder interviews, workshops, process modeling, data analysis, user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications.
  • Ability to comprehend complex business rules and data dependencies, communicating them clearly across teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies in dynamic, multidisciplinary environments.
  • Proactive workspace management, ownership of outcomes from discovery to delivery.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

  • Certifications in Business Analysis or Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working within financial regulation frameworks.

Language Required for the role:

  • Fluent in English with excellent command for technical and business communication.
