As a Senior Design Developer (React), you will be working for our client, a leader in digital portal solutions within the financial services industry. You will drive the creation of accessible, enterprise-grade portals by translating complex requirements into high-fidelity prototypes, establishing UI/UX standards, and leading a talented development team. Your main responsibilities:
- Lead the requirements-to-prototype pipeline by collaborating with stakeholders to produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Define and enforce UI/UX standards, interaction patterns, and design system governance across all portal applications.
- Architect and develop key React/TypeScript front-end components and shared UI libraries, setting technical and design standards for the team.
- Review pull requests, providing constructive feedback on both design fidelity and code quality.
- Coordinate with backend/API teams to ensure front-end designs are feasible and optimized within service and data constraints.
- Drive accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA) and ensure responsive design across all portal screens.
- Conduct usability testing/validation sessions, iterating designs based on user feedback and analytics.
- Mentor mid-level UI/UX developers, sharing expertise in design thinking and React best practices.
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- Minimum 10 years of experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including component libraries and design systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js and TypeScript, including component architecture, state management, and hooks.
- Proven ability to translate designs into responsive, accessible UI.
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift) and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, comfortable defending design decisions to business and engineering teams.
- Experience reviewing code and providing technical feedback within a team setting.
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Working knowledge of Java or .NET for backend collaboration.
- Experience with Micro Frontend architectures (Module Federation, single-spa).
- Basic SQL/database knowledge.
- Prior experience in financial services, fund administration, or transfer agent platforms.
Language required for the role: Fluent English
