Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office)

As a Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution developing modern, resilient systems to support its Foreign Exchange trading business. You are contributing to the design and delivery of scalable Java-based microservices in a fast-paced environment that values code quality, automation, and continuous delivery. Working in a cross-functional global team, you are helping to build robust solutions, automate deployments, and maintain production stability, while collaborating closely with product owners to align technology with business needs.

Your main responsibilities: Writing clean, efficient, and elegant Java code

• Building and maintaining microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud
• Automating testing and deployment for continuous integration and delivery
• Collaborating with product owners to clarify and refine business requirements
• Monitoring and supporting production systems to ensure high availability
• Participating in all stages of the software delivery lifecycle
• Owning the services you build and being accountable for their performance
• Applying design patterns and best practices in system architecture
• Writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data access
• Working closely with global teams and stakeholders to deliver value

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong programming expertise in Java and JVM internals
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservice architecture
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
• Familiarity with common design patterns and clean coding practices
• Background in DevOps and Agile methodologies
• Experience in CI/CD and automated testing frameworks
• Proficiency in English at B2 level or higher, with good communication skills
• Ability to manage pressure and deliver across multiple priorities
• A strong sense of ownership and accountability for your work
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working in diverse global teams

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of Foreign Exchange, FX derivatives, or money market products
• Familiarity with observability stacks and monitoring tools
• Experience working with Murex (especially v3.1) and related modules
• Exposure to multiple programming languages like JavaScript, Scala, C++, or scripting
• Involvement in open-source projects or external development communities
