Warsaw based opportunity with hybrid work model (1-2 days/month in the office)

As a Linux/Unix Administrator, you will be working for our client, one of the leaders in online banking, supporting the company’s large-scale IT infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring high availability and security of Unix systems, managing virtualized environments, and overseeing patch management to maintain system reliability. This position involves collaborating with a skilled team in a dynamic environment to enhance operational efficiency and meet the demands of a fast-paced online banking platform.

Your main responsibilities: Manage and maintain Unix-based systems, ensuring high availability and performance

  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot virtualized server environments
  • Automate processes using scripting languages, including shell scripting
  • Implement and oversee patch management processes for system security
  • Monitor and manage IP protocols to optimize network performance
  • Support users and troubleshoot issues related to Unix-based applications
  • Collaborate on system upgrades and enhancements to improve functionality
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and updates

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • A degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or Electronics
  • At least 3 years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator in a large organization (1,000+ users)
  • Strong expertise with Unix systems (including Linux/RHEL, AIX) and high availability setups
  • In-depth knowledge of server and application virtualization technologies
  • Proficiency in scripting languages for automation, especially shell scripting
  • Familiarity with patch management practices and related tools
  • Practical knowledge of IP protocols
  • Competence with MS Word, Excel, and Access at an intermediate user level
  • Professional certifications in Unix system administration (preferred)
  • Proficient English communication skills, both spoken and written
