Warsaw based opportunity with hybrid work model (1-2 days/month in the office)
As a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator, you will be working for our client, a leading company in online banking, within their Security Department. Your primary role will focus on managing, maintaining, and optimizing Linux/Unix systems to ensure high availability and robust security measures for critical banking applications. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement virtualization solutions, streamline system patching, and troubleshoot network protocols to maintain operational efficiency. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in Unix systems, security best practices, and a passion for continuous learning.
Your main responsibilities: Administer Linux/Unix systems (including RHEL and AIX) with a focus on security and high availability
- Implement and manage server and application virtualization technologies
- Write and maintain scripts for automation and task optimization using shell scripting
- Conduct patch management and updates to ensure system security and compliance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to IP protocols and network connectivity
- Manage system configurations and maintain documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Work with cross-functional teams to support large-scale infrastructure projects
- Use MS Word, Excel, and Access to generate reports and maintain records
- Ensure effective communication with team members and stakeholders on system updates
- Stay updated on industry standards and enhance skillsets to improve system administration practices
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- A degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or Electronics
- At least 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a large organization (over 1,000 users)
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix (including RHEL and AIX) with knowledge of high-availability configurations
- Strong experience with server and application virtualization technologies
- Advanced skills in shell scripting and other scripting languages for automation
- Knowledge of IP protocol standards and networking fundamentals
- Familiarity with patch management processes and best practices
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Access
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- A goal-oriented approach, with resilience under pressure and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement
