As an IT Cost and Contract Manager, you will be working for our client, a global leader in banking and financial services. The client is focused on optimising IT resources, third-party hardware, software, and services to maximise value and reduce costs. You will play a pivotal role in managing contracts, driving cost reduction efforts, and supporting the development of a robust governance model. This role involves close collaboration with procurement, technical teams, and business managers to ensure that the client obtains optimal commercial deals and enhances IT cost management processes.
Your main responsibilities: Managing IT contract lifecycles, ensuring timely renewals and stakeholder approvals
- Working with procurement and technical teams to evaluate and challenge contract renewals
- Leading cost reduction initiatives to optimise third-party IT spend
- Driving governance and compliance processes to monitor IT expenditure
- Collaborating with senior managers to support strategic IT initiatives and commercial projects
- Overseeing the creation of management information (MI) reports for third-party spending
- Maintaining an accurate IT contracts calendar and ensuring proper P&L articulation
- Ensuring alignment with the client’s zero-based budgeting approach across technology
- Communicating regularly with senior stakeholders to manage expectations and drive outcomes
- Managing risk and compliance requirements associated with IT contracts and procurement
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Proven experience in IT cost and contract management
- Strong background in commercial and cost management within an IT environment
- Expertise in negotiating and managing third-party contracts
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including procurement and technical teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- In-depth understanding of IT governance and risk management principles
- Excellent planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in creating and presenting management information reports
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry
- Knowledge of the zero-based budgeting approach
- Familiarity with the EU and global IT regulatory frameworks
- Experience working with large-scale IT procurement projects
- Familiarity with software licensing models and cost optimisation strategies
