As a Windows Server System Administrator, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution leading the modernization of its infrastructure to support critical middleware applications. You will be joining a high-performing team within the CTO Infrastructure division, contributing to large-scale migration projects. The role involves building and optimizing Windows Server environments and ensuring seamless transitions between operating system versions. This position offers the opportunity to work on enterprise-level systems that directly support essential banking services, combining technical expertise with hands-on execution in a dynamic and regulated environment.
Your main responsibilities: Building new Windows Server 2019 infrastructure for critical applications
- Testing and migrating systems from legacy environments to modern platforms
- Preparing and executing implementation and backout plans for migrations
- Optimizing system performance prior to production go-live
- Collaborating with application SMEs to verify middleware and MSSQL stability
- Automating routine tasks using PowerShell and third-party tools
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation on migration and rollback strategies
- Ensuring compliance with internal security and regulatory standards
- Performing end-to-end infrastructure validation and troubleshooting issues
- Supporting integration with underlying database and middleware systems
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong expertise in Windows Server 2016 and 2019
- Experience with operating system migration projects in enterprise environments
- Proven ability to plan and execute system deployment and rollback activities
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration
- Experience managing MSSQL in high-availability, on-prem setups
- Strong troubleshooting skills across server and middleware layers
- Solid understanding of security controls and compliance requirements
- Ability to create technical documentation and support project delivery
- Experience collaborating with application and infrastructure teams
- A proactive mindset with attention to performance optimization
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Familiarity with IBM Liberty or WebSphere Application Server
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL database administration
- Exposure to large-scale financial or regulated environments
- Experience working with closed-source or legacy third-party systems
