Solution Architect

As a Solution Architect, you will be working for our client, a global financial services organization. The company is focused on leveraging cloud-based solutions to enhance the performance, stability, and interoperability of their enterprise data systems. This role will be instrumental in designing and documenting solutions for various business requirements, with a strong focus on Azure cloud technologies, data warehouse design, and Power BI. You will work closely with development teams to migrate on-premise systems to Azure and ensure the high-quality technical documentation and architectural standards are maintained.

Your main responsibilities: Analyzing product offerings and business requirements to design optimal solutions

• Writing solution design documents (SDD) and creating infrastructure diagrams
• Maintaining technical documentation on Confluence for ongoing and completed projects
• Developing architectural diagrams to present to regional architecture boards
• Assisting in migrating on-premise databases to Azure data stores
• Providing expertise in data architecture, data warehouse design, Power BI, and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Establishing and maintaining database architecture standards
• Participating in design reviews, code reviews, and progress reviews
• Developing database architecture roadmaps and translating business requirements into effective designs
• Suggesting improvements for performance, stability, and interoperability

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• A BSc. in Computer Science or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience with enterprise data systems, including data collection, processing, and analysis
• At least 3 years of experience with Azure architecture and tooling
• Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server and Azure SQL databases
• Experience with cloud and hybrid-cloud implementations (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
• 3+ years working in Agile methodology
• Good knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) systems and data architecture design
• Expertise in ETL, data integration, and data migration
• Experience designing and implementing Azure Data Analytics solutions
• Proficiency in tools like MS Visio, Jira, Confluence, Power BI, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with other cloud platforms besides Azure
• Familiarity with additional BI tools beyond Power BI
• Knowledge of advanced data analytics or machine learning techniques
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
• Certification in Azure or other relevant technologies
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles related to data architecture
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python or R
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools
