As an Microsoft Azure DevOps Cloud Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global financial leader undergoing a large-scale public cloud transformation. You’ll be part of a high-performing engineering team within the Cloud Services function, building scalable, secure-by-design, and automated cloud capabilities on Microsoft Azure. The client is investing heavily in cloud-native services and DevOps, and your role will focus on enhancing the Azure platform’s resilience, compliance, and performance. You’ll collaborate with cybersecurity, Microsoft, and engineering teams to drive forward secure and compliant cloud innovation.

Your main responsibilities: Delivering engineering capabilities for an Azure WAF uplift and enhancement program

  • Building and managing the Azure platform for scalable application deployment
  • Engineering infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform
  • Designing and maintaining reusable code libraries and documentation
  • Configuring and managing common Azure services including networking and containers
  • Managing Azure networking components like Express Route, DNS, and NSGs
  • Ensuring compliance with operational risk and security standards
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and implementing automated delivery solutions
  • Executing patches and updates aligned with centrally defined patterns
  • Troubleshooting platform issues and providing guidance to application teams

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Demonstrating strong hands-on experience with Azure WAF enablement engineering
  • Engineering and deploying secure IaaS and PaaS solutions in Azure environments
  • Applying Infrastructure-as-Code practices using tools such as Terraform or ARM
  • Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Understanding cloud network security, compliance frameworks, and Azure controls
  • Managing cloud-based networking, DNS, firewalls, and IP configurations
  • Working with high-availability infrastructure such as reverse proxies and web gateways
  • Troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure and providing operational support
  • Communicating effectively across engineering, cybersecurity, and business teams
  • Staying current with evolving cloud technologies and sharing knowledge within teams

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Holding Azure certifications or multi-cloud experience (Azure + GCP/AWS)
  • Programming in PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or object-oriented languages
  • Administering and scripting within Linux, ideally Red Hat
  • Working in highly regulated environments such as financial services
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, or other cloud-native security tools
