Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office)

As a Data Discovery and Security Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution engaged in delivering secure and reliable digital banking solutions. You will be supporting strategic projects to strengthen data protection and IT security while ensuring compliance with international regulations and internal standards. By collaborating with global teams, you are contributing to implementing robust security frameworks and monitoring enterprise-wide risks. This role is focusing on providing expertise, driving change initiatives, and ensuring strong controls are operating effectively across all regions..

Your main responsibilities: Supporting the delivery and operating strategy for information security

  • Providing expert representation on security issues and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with global teams to implement enterprise-wide IT security strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory frameworks
  • Monitoring IT security risk profiles and exposures across regions
  • Driving engagement with cybersecurity stakeholders and business functions
  • Maintaining effective controls to safeguard information assets
  • Identifying and simplifying processes to improve compliance and security outcomes
  • Challenging risk appetite breaches and escalating appropriately
  • Documenting operational instructions, issues, and proposed fixes

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Proven experience in IT Service Management and ITIL methodologies
  • Strong understanding of data security principles and encryption technologies
  • Knowledge of global cybersecurity frameworks such as CIS, NIST, and EU regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong decision-making and analytical capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences
  • Ability to build strong relationships across global teams
  • A degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in Cyber or IT roles
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Hands-on experience with data discovery tools such as Protegrity, Symantec/Broadcom, or Veritas Data Insight
  • Experience working in a highly regulated financial environment
  • Familiarity with developing and refining operational workflows and procedures
  • Information Security certifications (CISSP, CISA, CRISC, GIAC, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor)
  • Track record of driving change and improvement initiatives
  • Multilingual communication skills beyond English
