As a Senior API Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial services provider committed to transforming banking experiences through cutting-edge technology. You will contribute to designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable APIs that power HSBC’s digital products and internal platforms. Your main responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize secure, high-performance APIs using modern Java and cloud-native frameworks.
• Implement event-driven architecture to enhance system responsiveness and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Maintain and improve existing API infrastructure ensuring resilience and security.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to uphold quality standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in API design and development practices.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 0+ years of experience in API development, microservices, or related fields.
• Strong proficiency in Java, with experience in cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture patterns.
• Knowledge of modern API security and best practices.
• Experience working within Agile or DevOps teams.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Certifications in Java or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Language Required for the role:

• Good command of English.
