As an Automation Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, as part of the Regional IT team. This team provides comprehensive IT services across Europe, including software development, deployment, support, and change management. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining automation test engineering solutions for system and application components deployed in on-premise and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS). Your role also involves manual application testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage and high-quality software delivery.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and executing detailed test plans and test cases
  • Utilising Selenium with Cucumber and Tosca for automation testing
  • Writing and maintaining automated test scripts
  • Performing manual testing alongside automation
  • Identifying, recording, and tracking bugs using defect-tracking tools
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Developing and maintaining test scripts for regression and functional testing
  • Validating .Net applications through rigorous testing methodologies
  • Participating in code reviews and providing feedback on code quality
  • Using SQL queries for data validation and performing API testing
  • Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Manual and Automation Tester
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Proficiency in test automation tools, specifically Selenium with Cucumber and Tosca
  • Experience in testing applications developed in .Net
  • Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience within a highly regulated environment
  • Familiarity with .Net framework for understanding and validating application logic
  • Experience with tools like JIRA
  • Ability to analyse complex scenarios and think critically
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues quickly
  • High level of detail orientation for identifying issues and ensuring thorough testing
  • Strong ability to document and convey technical issues and solutions clearly
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and tools as required
