Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (2 days/week in the office).
As a Automation Test Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global financial institution focused on delivering innovative digital banking solutions. The client is advancing their testing capabilities to ensure the highest quality user experience across web and mobile platforms. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining automated test scripts within Agile teams, contributing to faster and more reliable delivery of software features, while continuously improving test automation frameworks and methodologies.
Your main responsibilities: Designing and developing automated test scripts using Java or TypeScript
- Implementing and maintaining test automation frameworks such as Selenium or Playwright
- Writing and executing BDD-style test scenarios using Cucumber and Gherkin syntax
- Collaborating with developers and product owners in Agile sprint cycles
- Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Supporting test framework enhancement and troubleshooting automation issues
- Reviewing and analyzing requirements to define test cases and strategies
- Participating in sprint planning, grooming, and retrospective meetings
- Executing API testing using tools like REST Assured or Postman
- Reporting and tracking defects using JIRA and ensuring timely resolution
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Hands-on experience with Core Java and Selenium or TypeScript and Playwright
- Proficiency in BDD methodology using Cucumber and Gherkin syntax
- Strong coding skills in Java and/or TypeScript
- Solid experience with Agile and SAFe methodologies, focusing on ‘in-sprint’ automation
- Good understanding of modern web UI frameworks such as Angular or React
- Experience integrating test automation in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Familiarity with REST API testing and HTTP/JSON protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience working with version control (Git) and issue tracking tools (JIRA)
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Hands-on experience with REST Assured or JUnit for API testing
- Understanding of retail banking functions and requirements
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Anypoint, or Rest Client
