As a Data and Financial Engineering Analyst, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution, within the Product Control Data and Financial Engineering Department. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools that enhance Product Control activities, ensuring analytical capabilities, and delivering standardized data across the organization. This role involves implementing database requests, automating processes using Python and VBA, supporting system developments, and collaborating with various teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of financial solutions. Your contribution will play a key role in strengthening the institution’s data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
Your main responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining automated solutions to improve controls and analytical processes using Python, SQL, and VBA
- Developing services within the strategic Product Control infrastructure
- Supporting the accurate and timely delivery of standardized data to various Product Control teams
- Cooperating with the Technology department to ensure smooth integration and deployment of solutions
- Providing day-to-day support to Product Control users and assisting in fostering collaboration between the Engineering team and business stakeholders
- Working closely with Product Control stakeholders to define and refine solutions that align with requirements and compliance policies
- Participating in the development and support of the Citizen Developer framework to create reusable coding components
- Implementing and testing new system developments to optimize Product Control applications
- Responding to technical user queries and troubleshooting issues related to data processing and analytics
- Rolling out applications to new sites and ensuring seamless adoption by relevant teams
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Strong programming experience in Python with an understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles
- Proficiency in SQL, VBA, Jira, Git, and test-driven development
- Knowledge of the pandas package and its functionalities for data analysis
- Experience with financial data, including trade, position, valuations, and PnL
- A university degree in engineering, finance, economics, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Fluent English
- Experience in designing microservice-driven system architectures
- The ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders in a cross-functional environment
- A keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience working in a financial institution or a similar environment
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their application in financial analytics
- Knowledge of risk management and financial control processes
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
- Understanding of regulatory requirements in the financial sector
