As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services dedicated to advancing DevOps transformation through innovative data and analytics solutions. You will join a multi-disciplinary team that is central to creating cloud data platforms and delivering analytical products that drive performance and efficiency across engineering teams worldwide. This role involves building data pipelines, defining data schemas, and transforming raw data into valuable insights that empower decision-making and streamline development processes across the organization.
Your main responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying data ingest, refinement, and presentation layers
- Operating and iterating on cloud data platform capabilities to meet internal engineering needs
- Ensuring data quality through automated solutions and consistent data validation practices
- Collaborating effectively with global, cross-functional teams and business stakeholders
- Implementing and optimizing data schemas, marts, and pipelines for data enrichment
- Applying best practices in data modeling to improve storage and retrieval efficiency
- Leveraging DevOps principles in an agile, product-oriented work environment
- Supporting continuous integration and delivery for seamless data flow into production
- Monitoring and troubleshooting issues to ensure system stability and reliability
- Adapting quickly to evolving technologies and contributing to a culture of experimentation and learning
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- Extensive experience in data engineering, including ETL and streaming
- 7+ years of professional experience with SQL and data manipulation
- Proven expertise in GCP and BigQuery for cloud-based data processing
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, with experience balancing schema trade-offs
- Hands-on experience with automated data quality control systems
- Familiarity with orchestration and scheduling tools
- Background in DevOps, with experience in building, deploying, and maintaining data solutions
- Knowledge of CI/CD processes for efficient and reliable data operations
- Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working across global teams
- Adaptability to work in an agile and continuously changing environment
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Experience building and managing cloud data platforms
- Proficiency with Git, Maven, Shell scripting, and Python
- Familiarity with data architecture principles and practices
- Eagerness to take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and resolving issues
- Ability to collaborate with technical staff and project managers for effective delivery
