Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office).

As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services. The client is committed to advancing security and technology within their Cybersecurity Data Analytics team, supporting the company’s mission to safeguard its global network. The project focuses on processing billions of rows of data generated daily by network and business systems. You will be part of a dynamic team working on developing an innovative Data Lakehouse using Azure, Databricks, and machine learning to ensure a secure and efficient global network.

Your main responsibilities: Designing, building, and testing multi-layered data architecture and pipelines

  • Performing in-depth analysis of large datasets to extract useful insights
  • Developing software and systems to acquire, aggregate, and refine data
  • Using data tools for integration across different databases and systems
  • Optimizing data query performance for efficiency and scalability
  • Participating in data ingestion, sourcing, aggregation, and feature engineering
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align data deliverables with business needs
  • Writing efficient, reusable, and maintainable software with DevOps practices
  • Working within Agile methodologies, including test-driven development
  • Continuously developing skills in the cybersecurity domain

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Significant experience in end-to-end development with Python and SQL
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL workflows
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps, Azure CLI, and CI/CD systems
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and cloud-based data engineering
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences
  • Enthusiasm for learning and growing in the cybersecurity field
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong understanding of applying data engineering methods in cybersecurity
  • A solid foundation in data integration, aggregation, and feature engineering
  • Experience with software versioning control systems (e.g., Git)

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience with Azure cloud services, such as Data Factory and Databricks
  • Familiarity with machine learning models and how they integrate with data pipelines
  • Understanding of the medallion architecture in data lake management
  • Knowledge of network security principles and their application in data engineering
  • Experience in optimizing data query performance in large-scale environments
