As a Data Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading global banking and finance institution, in the Global Banking and Markets sector. You will play a pivotal role in the GBI Transformation project, facilitating data integration across MSS Ops globally.

Your main responsibilities:

• Onboarding new data sources, designing, building, testing, and deploying Cloud data ingest pipelines and data models using GCP technologies (CloudStore, BigQuery, Data Fusion)
• Implementing appropriate authorization, authentication, encryption, and other security measures
• Developing procedures and scripts for data migration and initialization
• Reviewing and refining business and technical requirements, prioritizing tasks in Jira
• Managing code artifacts and CI/CD processes
• Ensuring applications meet non-functional requirements and IT standards
• Writing well-commented, maintainable code and providing support during the development lifecycle

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Experience with DataFusion, CDAP, or Spark data pipelines
• Proficiency in Java or Python for custom plugin development
• Strong SQL/T-SQL skills and expertise in database administration
• Expertise in Administration and Development of On-prem or Cloud Databases, Warehouses and Lakes
• Excellent understanding of GCP architecture and solution design
• Excellent knowledge of devops tools: Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef,  Google Secrets Manager, Github
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and ITIL principles
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
• Fluent English
• Enthusiastic willingness to learn and develop technical skills independently
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience with application monitoring and production support
• Broad experience with IT development and collaboration tools
• Understanding of IT security and application development best practices
• Interest in investment products and the investment banking business
• Experience working in global teams with diverse cultures
