Warsaw-based opportunity with possibility to work 4 days a week remotely.

Are you ready to take on a key role in optimizing and maintaining critical banking applications? As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working with a leading organization in the banking sector, ensuring the performance, security, and stability of essential applications. This role offers the opportunity to work with a stable set of applications in an environment that combines on-premises solutions with select Azure components. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and improving these systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Your main responsibilities: Maintain and optimize application components, including Hashicorp Vault, InfluxDB, Grafana, Redis, and Redhat Ansible Automation Platform

  • Work with Elastic/Kibana users to optimize inefficient queries
  • Develop and expand Elastic clusters, including upgrades and performance tuning
  • Troubleshoot and analyze performance and stability issues
  • Design and implement Logstash pipelines
  • Optimize and manage Elasticsearch indexes, including index templates
  • Configure ILM (Index Lifecycle Management) and Curator for efficient data management
  • Harden cluster security and ensure compliance with security best practices
  • Develop Python-based monitoring tools to track infrastructure health using Elasticsearch data
  • Configure applications using Ansible, ensuring seamless integration with the client’s infrastructure
  • Deploy new application versions and handle version-related upgrades
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to manage and enhance application environments
  • Support development teams utilizing Elasticsearch to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Assign and coordinate sub-tasks with other teams (network, infrastructure, storage) for smooth project execution
  • Work closely with service providers to ensure best practices in managing Elasticsearch environments
  • Participate in projects like migrating secrets to Vault, upgrading components, and expanding environments

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • 3 years of experience as a Devops Engineer including one with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash), including index and query optimization
  • Proficiency in Ansible for configuration and automation tasks
  • Experience with on-premises application deployment and maintenance
  • Knowledge of security hardening for Elasticsearch clusters
  • Ability to manage containerized applications using Docker Compose
  • Solid understanding of ILM, Curator, and index management
  • Hands-on experience with Python for building monitoring and automation tools
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex application and infrastructure issues
  • Experience in collaborating with development teams working with Elasticsearch
  • Familiarity with Elastic APM (a significant plus)
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
