As a Financial Engineering Business Analyst, you will be working for our client, a global leader in risk management and analytics solutions. This role is pivotal in supporting the development and improvement of financial engineering infrastructure and modeling processes. You will collaborate across business and IT teams, gathering requirements, analyzing data, defining solution designs, and performing testing to implement strategic changes. This role focuses on delivering regulatory, digital, policy, and system-level projects to optimize model execution and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Your main responsibilities: Developing a deep understanding of current and target states for financial engineering infrastructure
- Communicating across impacted teams, including modeling, IT, and data teams
- Supporting modeling teams by producing data artefacts such as requirements, models, and dictionaries
- Assisting in the creation of datasets required for modeling processes
- Defining the business and functional architecture for model execution and monitoring
- Preparing test plans, scripts, and conducting functional testing for model deployment
- Assessing production incidents related to financial engineering and supporting resolution efforts
- Guiding modeling teams in adopting coding excellence standards for financial engineering
- Performing data analysis and ensuring data quality through transformation and control definitions
- Collaborating with global teams to align on project objectives and implementation strategies
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- A degree in a quantitative field and 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking
- Knowledge of credit risk modeling, including capital calculations, credit ratings, and model development lifecycles
- Strong background in data analytics, including data modeling, sourcing, transformations, and controls
- Proficiency in working with large datasets and tools such as SAS and Python
- Proven business analysis skills in Agile delivery, including user story creation and testing strategy execution
- Experience with JIRA and a strong command of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a self-starter attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies for project delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations and handle conflicts
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- FRM/PRM qualifications
- Experience in collaborating across different time zones and cultures
