GCP DevOps Engineer

As a GCP DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, a prominent financial institution specializing in risk and compliance management. You will play a crucial role in enhancing key systems like Helios and GMIS by leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies. Your focus will be on orchestrating and optimizing containerized microservices and databases, ensuring robust cloud infrastructure, and maintaining high-performance standards in a dynamic environment.

Your main responsibilities:

• Designing and managing Kubernetes (GKE) orchestration for microservices and databases
• Implementing and configuring CloudSQL for effective database management
• Automating infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and managing cloud autoscaling
• Integrating Jenkins and Groovy for continuous integration and deployment
• Ensuring secure cloud environments with Cloud Proxy, Firewall, DNS, and encryption
• Performing cloud health checks and configuring StackDriver for monitoring
• Managing build processes using CloudBuild and containerization with Docker and Docker Compose
• Writing and executing Linux scripts for automation and efficiency
• Collaborating using JIRA and Wiki tools like Confluence
• Applying Agile methodologies, including SCRUM, to drive project success

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Experience in tier 1 banking environments
• Proficiency with Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration
• Expertise in CloudSQL and Terraform for cloud infrastructure management
• Experience with Jenkins, Groovy, and GCP autoscaling
• Knowledge of cloud security, including encryption, proxy, firewall, and DNS
• Experience with StackDriver configuration and CloudBuild
• Proficiency in Docker, Docker Compose, and Linux scripting
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
• Experience with JIRA and Wiki tools, and Agile methodologies

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Knowledge of the risk domain and regulatory requirements, especially in model risk
• Experience with GCP CloudRun and micro-frontend containers
