As a GCP DevOps Engineer (Python), you will be working for our client, a global leader in financial services undergoing a major cloud transformation. This role supports the migration of critical data and analytics from on-premise systems to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Ali Cloud. You will help drive the adoption of DevOps practices, automation, and continuous integration to support compliance analytics. You will collaborate with globally distributed teams to design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure, while ensuring the successful delivery of data-driven solutions.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Automating continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines within a DevOps environment
  • Collaborating with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to guide product and service direction
  • Supporting DevOps teams throughout product and service release cycles with a customer-focused approach
  • Working with product owners, developers, and test engineers to identify and address operational issues
  • Ensuring service resilience, sustainability, and recovery time objectives for delivered software solutions
  • Designing and implementing GCP components and frameworks for compliance analytics
  • Maintaining and optimizing GCP architecture to support automated builds and IT controls
  • Collaborating with global teams to ensure proper functioning of GCP services and components
  • Keeping up to date with current tools, technologies, and regulations, especially regarding data privacy and security
  • Writing and maintaining automation scripts using Python, Bash, and other tools

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Strong Python development skills with experience in JupyterHub
  • Proficiency in Unix, shell scripting, and Linux system operations (RHEL 7.x)
  • Experience in continuous integration (Jenkins) and continuous deployment pipelines
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum or Kanban
  • Expertise in Git, GitHub, Jira, Gradle, Jenkins, Confluence, and Ansible
  • Experience with Hadoop/Spark for big data environments
  • Proficiency in automation tools like Airflow, Terraform, Ansible, or Saltstack
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across globally distributed teams
  • Knowledge of CI, CD, and DevOps principles and practices

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • GCP certification
  • Experience with Hive or SparkSQL
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques
