Data/Platform Engineer

As a Data/Platform Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution. Joining the Client’s department, you’ll support various tasks related to the development, analysis, and maintenance of data processes on GCP platforms.

Your main responsibilities:

• Analyzing data engineering pipelines
• Refactoring pipelines for optimization
• Migrating processes between platforms and technologies
• Establishing best practices for data engineering
• Supporting CI/CD processes and DataOps
• Developing reporting tools
• Collaborating with technical and business teams
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting data-related issues
• Supporting system administration of Airflow for DAGs development
• Engaging in application life-cycle management

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Experience with Spark (Python or Scala)
• Strong programming and data analytics skills
• Proficiency in GCP data services, especially BigQuery and Dataproc
• Understanding of cost and performance within GCP
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Familiarity with Airflow for DAGs development
• Experience with CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code
• Understanding of SRE and Service Management principles
