As a Development Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution that leverages advanced analytics and big data technologies to manage and reduce financial crime risks. This project focuses on building a robust analytics platform to support global data science and analyst communities. Your role will involve developing data transformation solutions and algorithms while collaborating with teams using cloud technologies to deliver impactful, data-driven outcomes. This is a hybrid position, allowing a mix of remote work and time in the office.
Your main responsibilities:
- Developing and managing data transformation processes
- Creating algorithms for data transformation and presentation
- Analyzing and interpreting complex datasets
- Collaborating with development teams to deliver use cases on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Applying best practices in data management and transformation
- Supporting deployment processes using CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins
- Writing and maintaining scripts for automation using Bash and Groovy
- Utilizing version control systems like GitHub to manage codebase
- Troubleshooting and optimizing workflows in a UNIX environment
- Contributing to the development of scalable, data-driven applications
You’re ideal for this role if you have:
- 1+ years of experience of developing and managing data transformation
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly GCP (or AWS)
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and transformation
- Familiarity with operating systems such as UNIX
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins
- Knowledge of version control systems like GitHub
- Ability to script using Bash or Groovy
- Basic understanding of databases and data storage
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration in a team environment
- Experience working in hybrid work models
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Knowledge of Java
- Experience with Airflow for scheduling tasks
- Familiarity with API development
