ETL/DWH Database Tester

As an ETL/DWH Database Tester, you will be working for our Client, a leading financial institution undergoing significant digital transformation. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of data flows and integrations within their systems. This involves rigorous testing of ETL mappings, data completeness, and the validity of various reports and dashboards. Your work will be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of their data and supporting their transition to cloud-based solutions.

Your main responsibilities:

• Testing ETL mappings to extract data from multiple sources like SQL Server, Flat Files, etc., into target tables using transformations
• Performing aggregate and comparative data analysis to ensure data flows and integrations are valid
• Validating reports and dashboards for accuracy
• Conducting ETL test validations and quality checks
• Developing ETL test scenarios and scripts
• Ensuring data completeness and quality for various feeds
• Following Agile Testing practices and guidelines, including Defect Management using Jira
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects
• Maintaining documentation of test results and processes
• Adhering to best practices in data testing and quality assurance

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in ETL DWH/Database testing
• Strong SQL skills including joins, CTEs, and complex queries
• Hands-on experience in testing data completeness and quality for feeds
• Proficiency in developing and executing ETL test scenarios and scripts
• Experience in performing aggregate and comparative data analysis
• Ability to validate reports and dashboards effectively
• Familiarity with Agile Testing practices and Defect Management using Jira
• Knowledge of testing on cloud applications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Exposure to Pyspark
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions
