As a GCP DevOps Engineer, you will be working for our client, an industry-leading global financial institution, supporting the transformation of compliance and data analytics systems onto Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role focuses on automating deployment pipelines, enhancing system resilience, and maintaining cloud architecture to strengthen the client’s compliance and risk assessment capabilities. You’ll be part of a dedicated team working across multiple regions to optimize cloud-based data management, enhance DevOps processes, and ensure sustainable, secure infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Automating CI/CD pipelines within a DevOps environment to drive continuous improvement
  • Liaising with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to guide product and service direction
  • Supporting teams at all stages of service deployment with a focus on end-to-end service quality
  • Working with Product Owners, Developers, and Test Engineers to address operational issues in service releases
  • Ensuring service resilience and recovery objectives for delivered software solutions
  • Designing and implementing GCP components and framework for compliance analytics
  • Maintaining GCP architecture to support automated build and release management
  • Collaborating with global team members to ensure proper GCP service functionality

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

  • Expertise in Kubernetes for container management
  • Proficiency in Unix, Shell scripting, and Linux system operations
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
  • Familiarity with GIT, Jira, Gradle, and project management tools like Maven
  • In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and cloud-based development
  • RHEL 7.x administration experience
  • Strong Bash/shell scripting abilities
  • Proficiency in Python development and JupyterHub
  • Experience with automation tools like Airflow, Terraform, or Saltstack
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on teamwork and reliability
  • A university degree in IT or relevant experience in an Agile or Scrum environment
  • Fluent English

It is a strong plus if you have:

  • Experience with Hadoop, Hive, or SparkSQL
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools such as GitHub, JIRA, and Confluence
  • GCP certification
  • Knowledge of big data clusters and machine learning concepts
