Kraków – based opportunity with hybrid work model (6 days/month in the office).

As a Java Developer, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution undergoing a large-scale digital transformation to modernize its platforms and enhance customer experiences. You will play a key role in developing robust microservices, integrating with modern cloud-native technologies, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This project focuses on building scalable APIs and streamlining the deployment pipeline using containerized services and automation tools. Your expertise will contribute directly to a more agile and resilient architecture in one of the world’s most highly regulated environments.

Your main responsibilities: Designing and updating API and microservice architecture

• Writing and delivering high-quality, maintainable backend code
• Reviewing user stories and technical designs for feasibility and completeness
• Performing code reviews and ensuring adherence to development standards
• Collaborating with architects and management to resolve blockers
• Coordinating with Scrum Leads to align technical tasks with delivery timelines
• Working closely with QA engineers to apply quality gates on all releases
• Documenting production support and release processes
• Promoting the adoption of new technologies across the development team
• Supporting and maintaining distributed containerized systems

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong experience with Bash/Shell, Groovy or Java in a Unix/Linux environment
• Proficiency with Jenkins and GitHub for source control and CI/CD
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying containerized platforms using Kubernetes and Docker
• Familiarity with Kafka for stream processing and messaging systems
• Understanding of Istio or similar service mesh technologies
• Ability to develop and maintain scalable microservices
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional agile teams
• Competence in performing code reviews and following coding standards
• Strong communication skills to interact with architects and stakeholders
• Experience in maintaining secure and compliant backend systems

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience working in financial services or highly regulated industries
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of API security standards and OAuth2 implementations
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools for monitoring and alerting
• Experience with GitOps or similar deployment methodologies
