As an MQ Specialist, you will be working for our client, a global financial institution, in the dynamic Payments IT department. The infrastructure delivery team, is responsible for building and supporting infrastructure across various technologies, including Linux, MQ, WAS, and Oracle. In this role, you will contribute to the rapid delivery of robust infrastructure, supporting complex application environments with a focus on progressive technology.

Your main responsibilities:

• Delivering projects by building MQ Infrastructure and connections for multiple stakeholders
• Providing MQ environment support for development and test systems
• Renewing SSL certificates for both internal and external connections
• Involvement in MQ messaging design following IBM and internal standards
• Contributing to the design and implementation of capability and process improvements
• Implementing version upgrades to the MQ estate
• Providing IIB Admin build and support
• Participating in a weekend rota to implement production changes

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong understanding of IBM messaging technologies, including MQ SSL and MQ IPT
• Demonstrable, excellent spoken & written communication skills across a global organization
• Proven track record working in a project environment managing multiple work streams
• Technical curiosity with a progressive interest in modern engineering disciplines and techniques
• Understanding of customers’ needs and delivering excellent customer service
• Experience in an Agile/DevOps environment

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in Payments
• Understanding of MQ IPT
