As a Scala Spark Engineer, you will be working for our client in a dynamic role involving cutting-edge technology and a focus on promoting an agile culture within a regulated industry. You’ll be operating within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to create data pipelines using Spark, analyze data in one of the world’s largest Datalakes, and utilize Airflow for test validation. Your contributions will be instrumental in the GSNA project, aimed at combatting financial crime across global banking sectors.

Your main responsibilities: Burning the Sprint backlog and ensuring the team achieves all its goals

• Collaborating closely with software developers on-site and remotely
• Adhering to Scrum framework practices
• Performing standard code maintenance, including testing, refactoring, and bug fixing
• Assisting Product Owners in understanding and refining technical backlog items
• Sharing knowledge within the team and across wider teams
• Participating in the end-to-end product development cycle, including production releases

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• Strong knowledge of Scala Spark
• Experience with Jenkins, GitHub, Jira, and Confluence
• A background in working within the Scrum framework
• Effective communication skills in English for discussions and presentations

It is a strong plus if you have experience with:

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Apache Airflow
• JUnit, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
• Applying clean code principles, SOLID, KISS, DRY, and design patterns
• Elasticsearch
• Previous experience with at least one of the major cloud providers (Azure, AWS)
• Secure Code Warrior certifications
